Middle School and High School

KarenDear Parents,

We believe that FCCS is the perfect size to provide the right opportunity for a student to be prepared for life. With class sizes designed to provide the attention needed, our classes foster an environment of learning both book and real life knowledge. Our teachers are living the Christian lifestyle before the students and enhancing the academic with a Bible centered approach. When you add on the expanded award winning programs of the arts, music and athletics, we offer student exposure to all the opportunities at a cost much less than larger schools.

We are a fully accredited high school that strives for excellence, and our graduates reap the benefits. Each year 85% of our seniors are applying for and receiving acceptance into colleges all over America. Graduates from the last five years have qualified for Bright Futures Scholarships at a rate of at least 50% per graduating class. A Christian college fair with over 35-40 colleges seeking our graduates is held each fall on our campus. Our graduates are also awarded academic or athletic scholarships from colleges every year that range as high $16,000.

Courses are available for the standard and college preparatory tracks. Advanced math courses begin in seventh grade. Additional advanced and/or honors courses in Bible, math, science and social studies begin in ninth grade. For those who meet the academic requirements, dual enrollment through Florida State College at Jacksonville are offered beginning in eleventh grade. Biblical worldview principles are integrated into every course area.

On campus, courses are taught from a distinctively Christian perspective, using Christian textbooks and e-books enhanced by the use of iPads. Each classroom is equipped with technology resources to enhance the curriculum such as computers, iPads, and Apple TVs.  Our learning management system, which assists with organizing content for each course, gives students the ability to access assignments as well as tests and quizzes directly from their iPad.

We hope that you will consider First Coast Christian School and come in for a consultation.

God Bless,

Karen Wilson

High School Principal

Upper School Highlights

Biblical Emphasis

The daily routine at FCCS includes Biblical principles incorporated into all classes. Students are mentored in Christian character and values through our faculty and staff’s example and instruction. High school students attend chapel weekly and participate in a Spiritual Emphasis Week twice a year.

Our students consistently perform at least a grade level above other students in both public and private schools. We offer traditional and college preparatory courses as well as the option for college dual enrollment for qualifying juniors and seniors. FCCS Follows the Florida Sunshine State Standard for needed curriculum content and makes it even more complete by including the proper Biblical emphasis.

Extracurricular activities are an important part of the middle and high school experience here at First Coast Christian School. We believe that every student should be well-rounded in education and activity in order to achieve the ultimate learning experience. In addition to our full athletic program,we also offer a variety of clubs and after school activities. Students are also required to take elective classes as part of their in-school curriculum. These electives such as journalism, art, drama, chorus and band often lead to after school activities in the form of concerts, special performances, major productions and competitions.

Students have the opportunity to participate in the following clubs if they meet entrance requirements: Beta Club, Junior Beta Club, National Honor Society, Junior National Honor Society and Tri-M Club. Band students also may participate in marching band during the Fall.

What parents are saying…

I am pleased with the parent/teacher communication, the level of instruction being given to my child, the Christian values and foundation he receives, and the care that is shown towards my child. The teachers are receptive and helpful and encourage my child.
