How many students does FCCS have?

FCCS has about 585 enrolled students for the 2016-2017 school year.

Is FCCS accredited?

FCCS is a fully accredited member of the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS) as well as the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and is a charter member of the Christian Schools of Duval County (CSDC).

How do I schedule a tour?

Educational Consults, which include a tour, can be scheduled by calling our Director of Admissions at (904)777-3040.

Is there financial aid and scholarships available?

We offer school-funded financial aid to families who are currently enrolled in our school. FCCS accepts Step Up for Students (SUFS). SUFS is an income-based scholarship. More information can be found on stepupforstudents.org.

Are your teachers certified?

All of our teachers must hold a minimum of a bachelor degree with a major or minor in their field of instruction and maintain certification with FACCS through continuing education.

What type of Bible do students use?

Christian teaching in the school is from a biblical approach using the King James Version of the Bible.

Do you have before or after school care?

Before and after school care is offered to all enrolled students at FCCS.  Parents need to sign-up for this service on a monthly basis. We offer before care from 6:45 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and after care from 2:40 p.m. to 6 p.m. for preschool and elementary school students. Aftercare is offered for middle and high school students from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

What is the dress code?

Students in 1st-12th grade at FCCS wear uniforms purchased from Lands’ End Uniform. A dress code is established to remind parents and students that dress and appearance must be in good taste and not be a distraction to the operation of the school and its purpose.

What kind of curriculum do you use?

FCCS uses a combination of A Beka Book, Christian Publishers and Bob Jones University Press curricula in K3-6th grade. In the upper school, predominately A Beka Book and Bob Jones University Press is used.

Do you have standardized testing?

Yes. All FCCS students from grades K5-11 take the Stanford Achievement Test 10.  This test is required for enrollment and parents should plan to have their student present for testing week. Scores are used for middle school students to help determine class placement for high school.

Do you offer VPK?

Yes, we offer the free Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program through the State of Florida with the certificate from the Early Learning Coalition.

Do you provide lunch for students?

FCCS offers a hot lunch to all students daily. Parents may credit their student’s accounts online for use by the student. Students may also bring their lunch if they choose. Lunch prices are available through the school office.

What are the class times?

The class times are as follows by grade level: K3 8:10 – 2:50; K4 8:10 – 11:15 or 12:25 – 3:30; K5 8:10 – 2:50; 1st – 4th 8:00 – 2:50; 5th – 12th 8:00 – 3:10.

Is there a hair cut requirement for boys?

Hair must be neatly cut, tapered on both sides and the back, not bushy or shaggy.  Boys are not permitted to have spiked hair, mo-hawks, braided hair, ponytails or shaved heads.  Hair must be a natural color, not bleached or dyed.

Is shadowing available for prospective students?

Prospective students may have a “shadowing” day on campus after meeting with one of our principals and being approved to do so.

Do you have open house?

We have open house every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
